Morice River

The Morice river flows from Morice Lake to Houston BC. This is an excellent river for fishing and canoeing. Experienced river canoeists will find this an easy river to navigate and will be rewarded with good fishing, wildlife and beutiful green water!! This trip can be done easily in three days.

You may find yourself reluctant to leave Morice Lake and head down the river due to the stunning view on Morice Lake.

The river is named after Rev. Father Adrien-Gabriel Morice, and was adopted in the 9th Report of the Geographic Board of Canada, 30 June 1910.

The Morice River supplies over 90% of the water in the Bulkley River. For more detailed information on the water quality of Morice and Bulkley Rivers visit link below.

For information on the Morice River Ecological Reserve visit this site.

If you are looking for a day trip or even a partial day trip, this river has much to offer. There are many access points allowing for many different short trips.

The river is class I-II for the most part. There is one spot (devils elbow) that may be better described as a II+.
